Flexible IPL LLM Program
For more than 40 years, the UNH School of Law, and its Franklin Pierce Center for Intellectual Property, have been global pioneers in hands-on intellectual property (IP) education. Our flexible online 24 credit IP LLM focuses on patent law and can be completed full-time or part-time.
- Full-time program must complete degree in 12 months.
- Part-time online students must complete the degree within three years.

Among the possible types of IP careers, patent law is unique. The value of patents is primarily determined by the scope of claims granted by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO). Be a part of the most respected and comprehensive patent law program in the nation.
Who Should Enroll?
The master of laws (LLM) is a professional degree designed for students from the United States or abroad who have a law degree and now want to specialize in a particular aspect of the law.
Admissions Criteria
Apply anytime throughout the year, and start at the beginning of either of our two terms – in August or January. Your application form must be completed 2 weeks prior to the start of classes. All LL.M. applicants must have completed a J.D., LL.B. or a recognized equivalent law degree, or have credentials that demonstrate equivalent qualification through relevant professional experience, as outlined in the graduate program admission standards.
(Note: An LLM candidate without a law degree must complete 30 credits.)
