Doctor of Education in Leadership in Schooling, Ed.D

About

The University of Massachusetts Lowell’s Ed.D. degrees offer professional educators the opportunity to complete a terminal degree. Graduates are able to pursue leadership roles in K-12 districts or instructional roles in education departments in higher education. These programs emphasize the development of thoughtful and reflective scholar practitioners. Please note that this degree does not lead to licensure.

The Ed.D. is designed as a cohort program: accepted students begin their program in Summer and take three calendar years to complete the program. Courses are completed online during the Summer, Fall, and Spring semesters, and candidates are expected to complete two courses each semester.

Note: For this program there is a one-week, on campus summer residency required each year.

RESIDENTS OF ARKANSAS, KANSAS AND MINNESOTA
The University of Massachusetts Lowell is not presently accepting applications or registrations for online courses, degrees or certificate programs from residents of Arkansas, Kansas or Minnesota. Due to recent legislative changes the University of Massachusetts Lowell is not seeking state authorization to offer online programs in those states. State and federal laws require colleges and universities to receive state authorization to offer online programs in states other than their own.
